Check it out on black
This photo has been in my idea book for awhile and logistically it has always been a tough photo to pull off, mostly because of location. In this photo I am actually standing below a hill and she is standing at the top of the hill, the reason for this is so the Milky Way appears much closer to the horizon and blocks out more light pollution behind the hill. There are not too many places near San Diego where you can pull this off without tress and bushes blocking the view, let alone a nice hill where the Milky Way is visible.
The camera settings were 30 Sec F/2.8 ISO6400. One of the other hardest parts was getting an image of Sage that was not blurry. We probably tried 40 photos before getting one that was sharp.
I hope you guys enjoy this photo, sharing is always appreciated!
