Today’s guest picture is another from Ada’s recent visit to New York.
We woke up to beautiful sunshine and a temperature exactly at 0°C. In spite of the freezing temperature, there was not a speck of frost to be seen and the drive and the road outside were ice free.
It was too good a day to stay mooching about at home so we waved goodbye to a pair of starlings….
…and set off for the Lake District.
Our drive there was leisurely, thanks to an obliging traitor which held the traffic up for ten miles or so and we arrived at Cockermouth in a relaxed mood.
There were signs of the low temperature to be seen on the northern fells…
…but when we had driven along the narrow and winding road as far as Crummock Water, the scene was surprisingly mellow.
