A Fine Mess

A mess.

This is a fine mess, I’ve made. Heh!

This is just layer upon layer. I am trying to learn how far I could go with random layers before the image became crowded and unrecognizable. This brings me to learning. Many of you replied to yesterday’s post with your thoughts and ideas. Thank you so much. That matters. Really matters. A few of you wanted me to tell you what I thought about the two pictures. Thanks, but not this time. I’m trying to learn from you. I kind of see it as a two-way street. We teach each other.

The picture. It’s just as I said. How many layers can I add until the image is a mess? Right now it looks sort of pretty. It’s nice and deep and dark and rich. In another layer or so I think it really would be a mess.

Fire In The Sky

Say It With A Camera

Don’t you just hate it. I started to write this post and then got side-tracked into doing something else. The result is as you can guess, I lost it all. For some reason, Windows Live Writer didn’t do it’s normal auto-recovery so I’m starting again. That’s if I can remember what I originally wrote.

Last week I was invited to a shoot at my favourite lighthouse and better still it was at sunset with an incoming tide. I’d never met any of the other photographers before and they were all travelling from England to be here in North Wales. So there’s my connection to bridge, this weeks challenge.

Talacre Lighthouse

In my camera bag I have some Neutral Density Filters which can be used to slow the shutter speed of the camera down. The filters come in various densities of darkness and the darker the filter the slower the shutter speed becomes…

Anatomia do golpe: As pegadas norte-americanas

Borrowed wings

Jane Dougherty Writes

This is for the Secret Keeper’s writing prompt. The words are:

Photo ©Mstyslav Chernov

1024px-ISOF_APC_on_the_streets_of_Mosul._Northern_Iraq,_Western_Asia._18_November,_2016I’ll borrow any wings to fly away,

Among the clouds where silence reigns to soar,

And leave below the world of blood and war.

I’ll borrow any wings, of gull or hawk,

The land is red and weeping, full of fear,

And safety beckons in the blue so clear.

I’ll borrow any wings though my heart bleeds.

To leave, you say and not to fight is wrong,

I should stand up, resist, I should be strong.

I’ll borrow any wings for some are made

To fight, and some can only stand and die,

Or leap into the cold, unsmiling sky.

These wings are only borrowed, I’ll return,

When the land is cleansed, peace come anew—

I used up all my courage when…

China Tells Carriers to Block Access to Personal VPNs by February

July 10, 2017, 6:29 AM EDT July 10, 2017, 8:26 AM EDT
  • 2018 deadline to stop individuals from accessing global web
  • Tightening controls come amid Xi’s goal of “cyber-sovereignty”

China’s government has told telecommunications carriers to block individuals’ access to virtual private networks by Feb. 1, people familiar with the matter said, thereby shutting a major window to the global internet.

Beijing has ordered state-run telecommunications firms, which include China MobileChina Unicom and China Telecom, to bar people from using VPNs, services that skirt censorship restrictions by routing web traffic abroad, the people said, asking not to be identified talking about private government directives.

The clampdown will shutter one of the main ways in which people both local and foreign still manage to access the global…
